Each year, thousands of Indiana children are involved in the juvenile court system due to abuse or neglect. As they navigate through the court process and all of the trauma and emotions that come with possibly being removed from their home and/or connected to many service providers, their stories become even more complicated and difficult. But that is where you can come in and help to change a child's story. Abused and neglected children need someone to advocate for them during this difficult time. They need a voice that speaks up for them--they need someone like you! CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers are screened, trained, and supported members of the community who are willing to step up and ensure that this chapter in a child's story ends with them being in a safe and permanent home (hopefully their home of origin) with services and protections in place if necessary. CASA volunteers have face-to-face contact with children sufficient to make fact-based recommendations to the court as to the best interests of the children they serve. Are you ready to be the one who helps to change a child's story from one of hurt and confusion to happiness and hope? We have certified CASA volunteer programs in 87 of our 92 counties. Contact us today for more information about becoming a child's story changer!

Mission Statement

We strive to provide trained volunteers to advocate for children involved in abuse and neglect cases in Indiana courts.

Description

We support programs statewide that train community volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children Without a GAL/CASA volunteer, an abused or neglected child may not have a voice in court. Our volunteers are for the child, and no one else. Sadly, not every child who needs a voice in court has one. Will you be their voice? If you are interested, please reach out to us and we will put you in contact with your local GAL/CASA volunteer program. We have programs in 87 of Indiana's 92 counties at the present time. A child is waiting...will you help?
