Volunteers United/AmeriCorps Seniors Program is a program of United Way that recruits volunteers for non-profit agencies in Martin County.
The mission of the organization where this opportunity is located is to provide better care of the sick, investigation into their problems and further education of those who serve.
Emergency Department volunteers who are friendly, compassionate, confident and empathetic, are needed to visit with patients in the emergency room. We would like them to make rounds with a cart to offer complimentary comfort items to those waiting for clients. Volunteers may act as the liaison between patients and clinical staff.
Requires standing, walking, pushing and wearing a mask for a 4 hour shift. COVID vaccine required.
Training and background check required at agency expense. Must be 18+
Hours: Monday - Sunday 9:00am - 1:00pm or 1:00pm - 5:00pm
