Volunteers are the heart of hospice! We need your caring hearts, gentle spirits and helping hands to assist with our terminally ill patients and their families. There are many ways you can make a difference as a volunteer for Compassus Hospice.

The main activity that volunteers participate in is spending time with a patient who is terminally ill, reading to him/her, providing companionship and support. Most of our patients reside in nursing homes, group homes, assisted living facilities or their private residences.

Another way volunteers may assist patients is through craft projects. They also make small memory boxes, pillows or knitted items.

As a volunteer, you are part of a professional care team that includes doctors, nurses, social workers, aids and chaplains. The time commitment made by volunteers is flexible and training is provided.
