Description

The Peace Corps provides technical assistance to countries that request it by sharing America 's most precious resources-its people and their skills. Since 1961, Volunteers have helped people build a better life for themselves. The scope of their work includes: expanding food sources, enhancing access to clean water, improving education, addressing burgeoning global needs such as HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, conservation, information technologies and developing business capacities.

Peace Corps is a 27-month commitment and provides a living allowance, full medical and dental care, transportation to and from the assigned country, as well as readjustment funds on completion of service. Peace Corps Volunteers live and work in a local community where they provide guidance and skill transfer, as well as opportunities for cultural exchange. Language : The ability to learn a new language is an important ingredient in a successful Peace Corps experience. Leadership and Community Service: Get involved!
