Board Member Expectations

  • I will read and abide by the bylaws of the organization.
  • I will read, annually affirm and abide by the organization’s conflict of interest policy.
  • I will perform all fiduciary duties and responsibilities to the best of my ability.
  • I will promote, value and protect the mission of the organization.
  • While mindful of the past, I will help build a vision for the future and help develop and execute plans to achieve it.
  • I will attend a board orientation within the first month of my board service.
  • I will attend a minimum of 6 out of 8 board of directors’ meetings annually.
  • I will attend the annual board retreat.
  • I will make an effort to attend all special events during the year.
  • I will serve on at least one Board committee.
  • I will help to identify, recruit and mentor new members to the board of directors and board committees.
  • I will make an annual financial contribution at a level that is personally meaningful and will support with my efforts the other fundraising work of the organization.
  • I will respect the confidentiality of deliberations made at board and committee meetings and contribute to a climate of mutual trust and support between the board and executive director.

Description

The Resolution Services Center of Central Michigan is a non profit 501(c)3 organization which helps parties resolve conflict, make decisions about difficult situations, and develop plans of action which are mutually acceptable to all parties.

Resolution Services Center (RSC) aspires to promote and empower peaceful conflict resolution throughout the six counties they serve.
