Hagar's House is a 5 unit, 30-bed emergency night shelter for families with children.
Decatur Cooperative Ministry is in need of volunteers that will l ead a life skill workshop - i.e. financial literacy, career counseling, cooking on a budget, etc. This will h elp clients to develop the skills needed to regain and/or maintain housing stability.

The mission of Decatur Cooperative Ministry (DCM) is to help families facing homelessness settle into safe, stable homes and build healthy lives filled with peace, hope and opportunity.
Description
Founded in 1969, DCM originally served as a coordinator of services provided by local churches and community agencies. In the early 1980s, DCM narrowed its focus towards the alleviation and prevention of homelessness with the creation of an emergency shelter program, a transitional housing program and a homelessness prevention program. Between 2012-2015, DCM further expanded services to include emergency assistance to Veteran households, rapid rehousing services and a permanent supportive housing program for chronically homeless families. Serving approximately 1,000 individuals each year, DCM programs provide families and individuals with the services they need to achieve and maintain long-term housing stability.
