Change a life! Help an adult in your community learn to read and write.
Volunteer today as a tutor in our Adult Learners Program: Achieving Life Goals Through Reading.
We seek committed, sensitive volunteers to help learners build their English reading and writing skills through free, confidential, one-on-one tutoring. If you are interested in volunteering as a tutor please let us know.
No experience is necessary. All materials and training are provided.
Training is self-directed, lasting eight to ten hours. Additional training is available throughout your time as volunteer.
We ask for a commitment of two hours a week for at least six months. Take the step to make a lasting difference in another's life today.
Qualifications:
- 18 years or older
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
- Clear a background check
- Complete tutor training
- Report progress each month
- Commit to six months or more of tutoring
