The nursing homes of Corning & Painted Post have a variety of opportunities for volunteers. Volunteers are needed to assist the activities director with activities, games & crafts. Friendly visitors can stop by just to have a chat with a resident or to read with them. If you are more active, you might want to stop by and lead "sit & stretch" exercises. More vocal? Be a bingo caller! Whatever your interests may be - there is a place for you.

Volunteers make a difference!
AmeriCorps Seniors of Steuben County provides opportunities for people ages 55 and over to make a significant impact in their communities through volunteering. Volunteers contribute anywhere from a few hours a month to over 40 hours a week serving in their communities. Opportunities to serve include volunteering at local hospitals and nursing homes, schools, food pantries, public safety programs, and other nonprofit agencies and organizations. RSVP staff assist volunteers in sharing their experience, abilities and skills for the betterment of the community and themselves. Volunteer orientation, on-site training, supplemental insurance (while on duty), and mileage reimbursement are free services available for RSVP volunteers.
