Faith in Action volunteers assist older adults to remain in their home by providing transportation to appointments, light housekeeping, friendly visits, yardwork, and/or minor house repairs. You may specify a specific need you would like to help with and are not required to assist in all areas.
Faith in Action offers services in both the Greater Corning/Painted Post areas and the Greater Hornell/Wayland/Greenwood areas.

Description
Volunteers make a difference!
AmeriCorps Seniors of Steuben County provides opportunities for people ages 55 and over to make a significant impact in their communities through volunteering. Volunteers contribute anywhere from a few hours a month to over 40 hours a week serving in their communities. Opportunities to serve include volunteering at local hospitals and nursing homes, schools, food pantries, public safety programs, and other nonprofit agencies and organizations. RSVP staff assist volunteers in sharing their experience, abilities and skills for the betterment of the community and themselves. Volunteer orientation, on-site training, supplemental insurance (while on duty), and mileage reimbursement are free services available for RSVP volunteers.
