Build a stronger community by educating local students about work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship! Using lesson plans and materials provided by Junior Achievement, volunteers will work, in partnership with a K-12 grade classroom teacher, to teach five to seven fun, hands-on 30-45 minute long activities. JA volunteers can be community members, business associates, retirees, college students and/or parents and are able to choose a school, grade level and JA program to work with. Training will be provided.
Individual and group opportunities are available. JA programs take place throughout the school year, during school hours. Volunteers will be able coordinate their visits to the classroom directly with their teacher partner.
For more information on JA programs and to review a current list of volunteer opportunities please visit the our website at www.jaofnco.ja.org. Our list of volunteer opportunities changes daily so check back often. JA volunteers need to enjoy interacting with young people and feel comfortable in speaking in front of a group of students. Volunteers must provide their own transportation. A JA program kit including lesson plans and all materials needed will be provided during the volunteer training meeting. Volunteer today to help us bring more JA programs to Portage County classrooms.
