Children Across America, a 501c3 children's educational non profit located in Milford, MA, is looking for 2 new Board members to help us to grow to continue providing free services to underserved kids. Board members lend their business experience and help fundraise to grow the organization. We are looking for people that have a passion for helping kids and who will be actively involved in the organization.
Most of our kids are first generation Americans and minorities who do not have access to the same resources other kids may have. We are trying to even the playing field and give these kids the same opportunity at a great education and a successful life as everyone else. We call it Educational Equity. We also have our Girls Love to Code Club, which is for young girls 4-9, to learn to block code, program and build VEX robotics. These girls increase their reading and math skills 3 fold on average by participating. in America, only 4 % of all engineers are women. That's ridiculous.
Children Across America provides educational programming(STEM and STREAM), preventative healthcare, healthy lifestyles and coding to America's under served children. We provide educational equity. The Milford office deals with residents of Milford and the surrounding towns of Blackstone Valley although we will never turn a child away no matter where they live. Our newest location is in Avon/Brockton and next year we will open Dorchester, Randolph and Canton. It is almost 100% volunteer organization and all of our services are provided free of charge.
Must raise at least $5K every year. This can be done by personal donations, running or working on company fundraisers, in kind donations from companies, getting sponsors, attending the toy drive, etc.. This is not hard to do and is easily achievable if you believe in our cause. I got Staples to donate over $50K of school supplies every year just by talking with them. DCU for Kids gave me 40 laptops, thats easily $5K.

Children Across America is a 501 (c)(3) (EIN 27-0355388), humanitarian organization. Children Across America provides literacy support and preventative healthcare to underserved children in the United States. Its vision is to empower families and children in low income communities. Its unique programs are focused on improving children’s educational excellence and health. The organization partners with local libraries, school systems healthcare advocates and hospitals to ensure children get the full benefit of its programs. We provide a free alternative program to underserved families with students in grades K-5, who can't afford a private tutor, or professional tutoring services such as Kaplan or Kumon.
Description
CAA has a combination of medical and educational programming.
Our main educational program is a STEM and Coding program for all children. We also focus on children K-5 grade that come from families that English is not their first language. Our Summer Reading and Math Club (Children's Book Club) and our Saturday Reading and Math club's goal is to raise the level of literacy in America's children. Our Math Clubs are to help develop children's basic math skills. We help all children but our main focus is the underserved population of America. Our signature program is our Summer STREAM and Girls Love to Code Club, that runs from July through August and our Saturday STREAM and Girls Love to Code Club that runs each Saturday.
Our main medical program and focus of our medical programming is Health Promotion in motion. This is a immunization and preventative healthcare initiative focused on making sure every child in America is immunized per CDC guidelines and has healthcare coverage. We are a vendor for the State for Mass healthcare signps.
