The Little Loomhouse is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Louisville Landmark. The Little Loomhouse complex consists of 3 Victorian cabins. The first is named and Esta was built in 1870. Esta is the location in which the song, Happy Birthday was sung for the very first time.
The Little Loomhouse has had the honor of hosting some very famous guests over the years, for example First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and world renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
The Little Loomhouse is a prime destination for both public and private school field trips and the Little Loomhouse demonstrates and teaches the art of textile weaving at cultural, educational and art events throughout the state. In addition, the Little Loomhouse is the nation's largest repository of original and classic textile patterns.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Lou Tate Foundation is to educate students of all ages about the history and continue the legacy of founder Lou Tate, master weaver, by ensuring the preservation of the Little Loomhouse landmark cabins and by educating students of all ages about the history of weaving and textile arts through diverse programs, residencies and community partnerships. Our Vision is for the Little Loomhouse landmark to be the national leader of introducing weaving, textile arts and their history from the Little Loomhouse landmark cabins.

The Little Loomhouse is an arts and culture center on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Louisville Landmark. The complex consists of three Victorian cabins. The first, called Esta, was built in 1870. This is the cabin in which the Happy Birthday song was sung for the very first time.
The Little Loomhouse has had the honor of hosting some very famous guests over the years including First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
In addition to hosting school field trips, summer camps, and workshops onsite in the cabins for students of all ages, the Little Loomhouse also demonstrates and teaches weaving and other folk art at cultural, educational and art events throughout the state.
