Description

You may have guessed that The Queen's Medical Center is the largest hospital in Hawaii, but we bet you didn't know that they are also the only trauma center serving Hawaii and Micronesia. No wonder they need ER volunteers to give them a hand!

The Queen's Emergency Room Volunteers assist ER staff with transporting patients, restocking items throughout ER as needed, making beds as they become available, assist in filing emergency room records and reports and answering phones along with various other tasks.

Once a volunteer has completed their initial training, they can begin volunteering in the ER. Shifts for this position are four-hour shifts (established through Volunteer Services), between 8:00 a.m. and midnight, Monday through Sunday.

All Queens' volunteers require a two-step TB clearance, attend Orientation from the Volunteer Office and purchase a Queen's volunteer yellow polo shirt.

Lots of training is provided.

Skills

Volunteers are required to posses the following skills: proficiency in English both written and verbal, superior customer service, establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and staff, and a desire to please.
