Help up to 50 men, women & children get ready for a new day and a fresh start! Morning shelter volunteers are 18 or older, and help from 5:30 to 7 a.m. There are 2 morning volunteers with 3 staff members.
Morning tasks include cleaning up and maintaining a light breakfast (toast, cereal, fresh fruit, coffee...), distributing bagged lunches and morning chore supplies, monitoring the exit of shelter guests.
Volunteers serve times and dates based on our daily needs, and according to your schedule. However, once a shift is assigned, the commitment is critical. There is no minimum requirement of service.
Project Hope assists up to 50 homeless men, women and children. Volunteers are additional hands, eyes and ears for the staff, and are not expected to enforce rules.
Please include your mailing address so an application can be mailed to you or you may complete an application on our web site: http://projecthopeonline.org/online-volunteer-application/
Please allow at least 2-3 weeks for the completion of application review and background check. PLEASE DECLARE COURT-ORDERED SERVICE

Description
Project Hope for the Homeless is the only emergency homeless shelter in Lake County, Ohio. We are located at 25 Freedom Road in Painesville Township and have four programs, which include an overnight shelter for adults, a separate wing for families and children, an optional aftercare program, and our offsite senior care program at our Hope House.
The emergency shelter provides space for up to 50 adults and children each night, not only offering them a safe place to stay, but also giving them the basic needs and professional guidance to help them improve their quality of life. More than 80% of our guests left the shelter for a better living situation.
Every day staff and volunteers ensure the safe and efficiency of the shelter. Come join our mission!
