Do you have experience as a Barber?
Are you looking to use your skills in a way that impacts lives of people living in poverty?
The Men's Shelter of Simpson Housing Services is looking for a volunteer barber to visit monthly and provide free haircuts. You make your own schedule! Available days are Sun, Tue, Wed, Fri, and Sat. Any time between 5:45 pm and 9:30 pm. Experience with African American hair required.
This service would make a major difference in the lives of men experiencing homelessness. Physical appearance is important in daily activities and when searching or keeping employment and could even impact housing opportunities.
Shelter guests are wonderful, respectful, and humble people. This is a great opportunity to interact with people you might not meet in your day to day life.
