The Organizational Support Volunteer will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of The Good Grief Center. The job responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to: · Greet visitors as they enter the center. · Answer phones, record and forward telephone messages. · Catalogue books, videos, pamphlets, and other resource materials. · Assist with managing and maintaining databases and data processing. · Assist with filing of records and papers. · Assist with mail and correspondence. · Assist with ordering of supplies and their storage. · Assist with special events, programs, and computer related tasks. · Record volunteer hours weekly. · Provide at least 24-hour notification in advance if unable to work scheduled shift. Perform other appropriate duties, as requested.

Description

The Good Grief Center for Bereavement Support is the region’s first and only comprehensive center dedicated exclusively to bereavement education, resources, and referrals for all ages. The Good Grief Center merged with Ursuline Support Services in 2011, becoming Ursuline’s newest service and furthering Ursuline’s commitment to supporting those vulnerable in our communities through life’s transitions.

The premise of the Good Grief Center is to be a comprehensive bereavement resource and referral center that builds a more compassionate community through grief awareness, education, support and hope; creating a safe place where all who have experience the pain of death may come to work through loss and learn to manage grief.
