Spend your time doing what you enjoy on a flexible recurring basis by volunteering to lead virtual classes for older adults. Have a topic in mind? Categories include wellness, games, food, history, news, the Arts, travel and so much more! The VSC (Virtual Senior Center) is a program that provides Older Adults 60+ with an opportunity to attend virtual classes any day of the week on a wide variety of topics that you are facilitating. We have a flexible recurring schedule: day, evening, weekend on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or series basis. Do you enjoy interacting with older adults, sharing your interests, and leading a group discussion? Then you’ll enjoy facilitating classes in English, Chinese or Russian.

Mission Statement
Selfhelp is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to maintaining the independence and dignity of seniors and at-risk populations through a spectrum of housing, home health care, and social services and will lead in applying new methods and technologies to address changing needs of its community. Selfhelp will continue to serve as the "last surviving relative" to its historic constituency, victims of Nazi persecution.
Description
Selfhelp is A private, non-sectarian, not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, Selfhelp was founded in 1936 by a small group of refugees fleeing persecution during the Holocaust. Our history is rich and varied because throughout it, we have continued to respond to anyone in need. Our mission has always been to help older adults live happy, independent lives in their own homes with services that help maintain their health and safety. Today, Selfhelp offers 20,000 aging, frail and "at-risk" New Yorkers a comprehensive network of social service, senior housing and home care services. It is also the oldest and largest provider of Nazi victim services in North America. For almost seven decades, Selfhelp has dedicated itself to being a source of information, service, community, and quality home care for New Yorkers.
