The VITA Program is an invaluable service United Way of Palm Beach County has been providing to the community for the last eighteen years. It offers services to individuals and families with low-to-moderate incomes who are eligible for tax credits.

Volunteers are the key to the VITA Program’s success. As we enter the program’s nineteenth year of service, United Way needs your help recruiting 200 volunteers. A commitment of four hours per week is required during tax season from 18 VITA site locations throughout Palm Beach County offering a flexible schedule including weekdays, evenings and weekends, as well as some virtual and socially distanced options!

Volunteering for the VITA Program is an extremely rewarding opportunity! No experience is required and there are opportunities that don’t involve preparing taxes.

All VITA volunteers will receive a background check upon completion of training and certification.

Welcome taxpayers and oversee the sign-in process | Conduct initial screening of taxpayers

Meet with taxpayer to gather information, review documentation and prepare tax return

Manage VITA site and volunteers | Provide support, answer questions and provide quality review of tax returns
