PATV is a resource dedicated to diversity in community communication and promotes media literacy by providing workshops in media production and hosting lectures that focus on critical viewing. To assist in these goals, the access center has a working studio, editing stations and portable equipment that any community member can use to make programs that play on PATV Channel 18 in Iowa City and Coralville. PATV is available in over 18,000 homes in the area and all programs are sponsored or produced by local community members.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Working on field productions and special projects, as assigned.
- Maintaining TV studio and assisting studio productions.
- Equipment maintenance and cleaning.
- Maintaining Community Bulletin Board.
- Maintaining tape library and updating tape archives.
- General office work, as needed.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate is majoring in Film/Video Production or related field and is
looking to intern for college credit.
- Experience with digital video production/post-production.
- Have an interest in community programming.
- Computer literate, possess excellent written, oral, and communications skills.
- 10 hours per week, including occasional evening and weekend hours.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work independently and on a team
