PASSi, a nonprofit organization located in the East Oak Lane neighborhood of Philadelphia is seeking volunteers for our Evergreen Senior Community Center.

We are seeking Korean speaking instructors to help teach Korean American seniors how to more effectively use technology. We have an overwhelming demand amongst our members for computer literacy education, and education on how to use smart phones. Volunteers will help our members gain a basic understanding of how to use computers and their phones.

If you would like to help seniors use technology and more effectively communicate with their children and grandchildren this is the opportunity for you!

Our mission is to promote the well being of Asian American seniors and other adults who are disadvantaged by their language and cultural barriers.

Description

PASSi currently provides community based culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate adult day care in our Penn Asian Jubilee Center as well as in-home health care services to low-income elderly and disabled adult Asian Americans who reside in the greater Philadelphia metro area. In each case, our clients are ailing, disabled and disadvantaged by cultural and language barriers. Through these services, vulnerable members of Asian American communities have the opportunity to maintain healthy, dignified, independent lives and prevent premature admissions to nursing home care. For their families, this service provides peace of mind and respite from the need to fulfill filial obligations to care for elderly parents and disabled adults at all costs.
