Volunteers are needed to help maintain and update shelter agreements throughout the greater Lehigh Valley, including the southern portion of CarbonCounty. Shelter agreements allow the Red Cross the use of these facilities in the event of a disaster. Volunteers are needed to call sites for verification of information, perform on-site inspections and complete shelter surveys.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, have reliable personal transportation, a valid driver's license and pass a basic background check. A time commitment of two to five hours per week is required (may be weekday and/or weekends). Training is required and is provided free of charge by the American Red Cross.
