You can help shape the future of one of the most respected low-fee counseling centers in the San Fernando Valley by becoming a member of our Board of Directors. You will have the opportunity to lend your unique perspective to Board planning and tasks. You will be able to interact with other enthusiastic community members. You can become a part of our Center "family"-- a warm, caring and friendly group. More info at www.sfvcc.org.

Board members participate by:

Attending a meeting on the third Friday of each month, 9 a.m.- 11 a.m.

Joining at least one of the Board's committees, such as fundraising, marketing, finance or training.

Previous board experience is helpful as is experience with healthcare, legal, financial services, IT, or grant writing. Preferred Qualificaiotns include advanced degree + minimum 7-10 years of professional experieince.

Mission Statement

We believe in the benefits of counseling to a person's growth and development. Through the dedicated commitment of well-trained, supervised volunteer counselors, we provide access to quality, affordable mental health counseling for individuals, couples and families who may be uninsured or have financial limitations.

Description

The San Fernando Valley Counseling Center is a non-profit organization with 50 years of providing quality, and affordable counseling to the community.

Our counseling is provided by a dedicated and competent staff of paraprofessionals, graduate program trainees, interns and paraprofessional counselors, who are rigorously trained and supervised by licensed mental health professionals who share our vision and commitment to the community.

The Center is supported entirely by contributions from individuals, families and businesses in the community and by counseling fees from clients, all of which go directly to the Center to fund its operations.

San Fernando Valley Counseling Center is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Tax ID: 23-7251267
