Mamaroneck, N.Y (July 27, 2007) - Volunteers are needed to assist for the High Holidays.
Rosh Hashanah is the holiday that marks the beginning of the Jewish New Year. This year, it begins at sundown on Wednesday, Sept. 12, marking the beginning of the year 5,768 in the Jewish calendar. Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is the holiest day of the year for those of the Jewish faith. It begins this year at sundown on Sept. 22.
Volunteers provide residents with friendship, assist with in house transporation, and help to provide the traditional items that make these holidays so meaningful.

Sarah Neuman Center for Healthcare & Rehabilitation is the Westchester Division of the Jewish Home & Hospital Lifecare System, a premier non-profit skilled nursing home and geriatric health care / rehabilitation facility providing excellent long term care, adult day care, home health care, health services and social / community services in the New York Area.

Description
The New Jewish Home is one of the premier non-profit geriatric and rehabilitation institutions in the country.
The Home serves more than 5,000 older adults daily through traditional long term care, subacute care, rehabilitation services, community services and senior housing programs.
These services are offered on the Manhattan, Bronx, and Westchester campuses, as well as through the Community Services Division, which provides programs throughout the metropolitan area.
