ORGANIZATION: VITAS Healthcare

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 79 people are interested

VITAS is looking for kind and caring people to help terminally ill patients and their families. Friendly visits, simple errands, providing a listening ear and the gift of friendship at a crucial time can make a real difference in another's life. Yours, too! Other VITAS volunteer activities: respite care (sit with a patient while the caregiver takes a break); friendly visits to patients and their families at home, in a nursing home; or assisted living facility. Volunteers may spend time helping patients write letters, read books, or help them stay current with today's events. Just being there to visit someone who might not necessarily get a visitor makes a real difference. ORIENTATION will be 01/02/15, 10-3pm at VITAS in Stratford. Participants must have pre-interview, complete volunteer paperwork and complete full training.
