Are you looking for an opportunity to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of our seniors? Would you like to be part of AmeriCorps, a national program? Alpert Jewish Family and Children's Service is looking for people age 50 or older to become companions in their Seniors Helping Seniors Program. The program requires 9 hours of service per week for 1 year. As a companion, you will assist clients by providing transportation to appointments, grocery shopping and help with errands.
You will receive training, ongoing support and a living allowance of $211 per month. After completing 450 hours, you are eligible for a $1,500 educational voucher which can be used to pay for courses at local colleges (transferable to children and grandchildren).

Providing a wide range of needed social services to strengthen individuals and families. Participating in identifying, addressing, and assisting in the coordination of aid for community needs. Fulfilling its mission guided by Jewish traditions and values.

Since 1974, Alpert Jewish Family & Children's Service has strengthened and enriched the lives of men, women and children of all ages. We do this through a continuum of focused programs addressing the well-being of children and families of all ages, the independence and well being of older adults, and the optimal quality of life for individuals with special needs.
