Food bank/salvage crew
CV Regional Food Bank feeds the hungry by soliciting, warehousing and distributing salvaged and donated grocery product to established 501(c)-3 non-profit agencies and churches for their needy clients in the Concho Valley.
Volunteers are needed to stock shelves. Stocking shelves can provide a little exercise at the same time you are volunteering. Stockers are needed each morning for approximately 1 - 1 1/2 hours beginning at 7:30 am.
Bread run - takes approximately 2 hours, dependent on amounts being picked up from each store. A volunteer is needed MWF beginning at 7:15 am to take the Food Bank van and pick up bread items at six grocery locations.
Terms: Site is handicapped accessible. Volunteer benefits are available for people 55 years of age and older. Car Required

The mission of RSVP:
RSVP has the dual purpose of engaging persons 55+ and older in volunteer service to meet critical community needs and to provide a high quality experience that will enrich the lives of the volunteers.
Description
RSVP was established in 1971 under the ACTION program, and has been operating in San Angelo and Abilene for numerous years under the local sponsorship of the West Texas Rehab Center. Part of the Corporation for National Service (CNS), RSVP exists nationwide, in order to engage the skills and energy of persons 55+ years (you don't need to be retired) to volunteer in the community.
RSVP Volunteers receive a free newsletter packed with local information, and free personal and excess liability and accident insurance. The personal and excess liability coverage is provided during your assigned volunteer duties. Volunteers are also invited to seasonal recognition events and parties. RSVP is free to join and is a great way to connect with the life of the city.
How do we do this? We partner with 120+ non-profit agencies in the locality, by annual agreement, allowing RSVP, as an umbrella organization, to offer a wide variety of volunteer opportunities and experiences to members.
