RSVP Volunteers are Making the Difference
RSVP of Portsmouth provides people 55 plus with opportuniies to improve thier communities. Our projects include programs such as meals on wheels, CASA (Court appointed advocates), mentoring, tutoring an adult literacy program and an array of many other volunteer opportunities.
We try to match seniors and baby boomers with duties that they request or have skills doing. Our goal is to match prospective volunteers with opportunities that they are comfortable with and enjoy to make a difference in thier community.
Terms: Site is handicapped accessible, Volunteer must be at least 55 years of age or baby boomer. However no volunteer is turned away, we will offer opportunities to anyone that wants to volunteer.
Other Information Requested of Volunteers: Identifiction and a dedication to serve in the community.

Make a Difference in Your Community!
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
