RSVP 55+ Volunteer Program partners with United For Reading Success tutoring program
UFRS is a volunteer tutorial reading program, whose goal is to raise the level of student achievement in reading. Volunteerism is critical to the program's success. The program is a partnership between community volunteers, school administrators, first grade teachers and ThedaCare.
YOU WILL MAKE A LIFELONG DIFFERENCE IN THEIR LIVES!
No experience is necessary, just a love for children and the desire to help them succeed. Teachers supply materials and a short lesson plan. The program runs October--May each school year.
Tutors work one morning or afternoon per week throughout the school year. Commitment is important, yet complete flexibility exists because of the availability of substitute tutors.
Terms: Must Provide Own Transportation, Volunteer must be 18. A great opportunity for those 55 and over.
RSVP 55+ Volunteer Program supports tutors! Ask about the benefits of RSVP.

Description
Make a Difference in Your Community
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
