Mission Mentors, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides mentoring support to public and charter high school students in Washington, DC and improves graduation rates and students' outlook for the future. Our Programs Mentors, Inc. works with motivated students to enhance their personal, academic and career development by matching them with adult volunteer mentors in structured 1-1 relationships. The organization's work with traditional public and charter high schools has also been proven to improve graduation rates: at least 90% of our students graduate from high school as compared to the city average of 60% and more than 80% of our students also pursue post-secondary education as compared to the city average of 29%. And to make sure our efforts yield the best results for our students, we follow the BEST PRACTICES of MENTOR, National Mentoring Partnership.

Be A Mentor!

Mentors, Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization that pairs Washington, D.C. public high school students with trained adult mentors. We have provided mentors for nearly 4000 young people since 1987.

Our mission to create one-on-one mentoring relationships and enrichment activities between adult volunteers and District of Columbia public high school students to promote their academic, career and personal development.

Our program has shown great success. About 95 percent of our student protégés graduate from high school (compared with a citywide graduation rate of approximately 60 percent). Approximately 80 percent of our protégés go on to college.
