Shopping For Seniors/food shop for frail elders.
The Shopping For Seniors Program matches volunteers with frail, elderly persons who are unable to shop for themselves. Clients call in their shopping order weekly to the Department on Aging, the shopper then picks up the grocery order, goes shopping, and delivers food. This is a program that allows frail, elderly persons to have fresh food of their choice, and to have contact with a persons outside of their home. The client's nutrition and well being are enhanced.
Volunteers will pick up shopping lists and needed items for the clients at the assigned location nearest them. Shopping and delivery are completed. Some uncomplicated paperwork is required.
Terms: Car Required - Must Provide Own Transportation, Volunteer must be at least 55 years of age

Join other Butler County RSVP members in providing volunteer services that contribute to a better quality of life for our entire community! RSVP provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute as many hours as they chose, serving through RSVP projects sites and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, pre-service orientation, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
