Transportation for older adults to medical appointments and grocery shopping.
Help older adults maintain their independence. Many older adults do not have reliable transportation to critical medical appointments. Last year, volunteers provided 3,000 rides for older adults to dialysis, chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Volunteers may use their own car or a county vehicle.
Volunteers provide a minimum of three rides each week to elderly people who cannot otherwise transport themselves to medical appointments, physical therapy or grocery shopping. Volunteers provide door to door service while assisting seniors in and out of vehicles and negotiating...
