Help older adults stay connected to the community!
Open the door to a new friendship. Older adults with limited ability to get out of their home are looking forward to a friendly visit or phone call once a week. Socialization is key to good mental and physical health. Share common interests, play cards or games, or share a good story. You can make a difference in someone's life...as well as your own! Socialization is key to positive mental and physical health. During the pandemic, many people experienced the impact of social isolation. This volunteer experience gives the opportunity to connect and combat these ill-effects, one relationship at a time.
Terms: Some homes are accessible, Volunteer must be at least 55 years of age.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY!
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from one to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, health care facilities, parks, museums, libraries and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
