Description
Teach critical thinking to inmates
Thresholds and Decisions is a critical thinking and decision-making course developed for inmates. Volunteers are trained to teach the curriculum from a manual over 12 weeks. Volunteers teach weekly for 1 hour. Extensive training and materials are provided.
Training provided for RSVP Volunteers to teach critical thinking and decision makeing skill to inmates at county jails. Training materials provided, as well as support and supervision. Curriculum is 12 weeks long. The commitment is 1hrs once a week to do the counseling after intial training. This very successful 25 year old project has proven to reduce recidivism among it's graduates.
Terms: Site is handicapped accessible, Volunteer must be mature and reliable RSVP volunteers must be 55 years of age
Other Information Requested of Volunteers: Criminal background check required
We will be recruiting for our fall200 session.
