Who We Are: Mercy House is a non-profit organization that provides emergency and transitional services to the homeless in Orange County and Ontario. Our goal is simple; to end the cycle of homelessness for those entering our system of care.
Overview: The children at our shelters need supervision while their mothers are attending life skills classes. This occurs every Monday and Thursday night from 6:45 - 8:15pm.
Responsibilities: Volunteers are responsible for supervising, playing and interacting with children. Their ages range between 0-10 years.
Initial Impact: Provide support to single mothers who are trying to get back on their feet.
Sustainable Outcome: Gain experience working with children and increase their social skills to prepare them for their future.
Training and Support: A staff member will be on site in case of an emergency. The mothers are also onsite if needed.
Requirements: Volunteers over 18 years old must be fingerprinted and Live Scanned (fee involved for Live Scan).
