Needed: Men to Mentor boys who want to better themselves while on Probation!
- Many young men need positive role model and a friend.
- They are desperate from someone to look-up to.
- Assist youth's in setting goals for the future.
- These young men also need advice on their education and a career path.
- See new things and places, and have fun!
What is the Process?
- Mentors are matched with a youth for a minimum of one year.
- Mentors spend minimum of 8 hours per month together
- All matches are the same gender.
- You will receive training on how to mentor a youth.
What does a Mentor do?
- Assist youth in making positive choices,
- Explore careers and higher education,
- Improve youth's grades,
- Assist youth's goals for the future,
- See new things and places, and have fun!
- Be a positive role model and friend
- Mentoring boys and girls is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community

Be A Mentor, Inc. has been positively interacting with at-risk and academically low performing youth since its founding in 1992 and continues to connect youth with dedicated volunteer adults throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. We provide a direct mentoring service to at-risk youth (such as those in foster care; with incarcerated parents; susceptible to gang participation, drug/alcohol abuse or teen parenting; homeless/in transition or academically struggling).

We provide proven and sustainable mentoring programs for agencies by recruiting, training and matching adult volunteers who wish to mentor youth. Description
The Be A Mentor Program trains Mentor Site Coordinators, pairs caring adult volunteers from the community with youth in one-to-one relationships. Mentors give of their time to be a friend, answering questions, and providing guidance. Mentors come from a variety of backgrounds and occupations and volunteer their personal time to be a caring friend to a youth. They serve as a role model, advocate, and resource. The purpose of the mentoring relationship is to help youth develop their full potential, both in and outside of the classroom.
