Golf Tournament Volunteers Needed for 11/4 Event

FACE's 8th Invitational Golf Tournament is coming up on Monday, November 4th. This fun, dog-friendly tournament includes a day of golf followed by dinner, a live and silent auction, awards ceremony, and more! There are 2 shifts for volunteering - morning and evening. This event will be held at the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club in Solana Beach. GOLF TOURNAMENT DETAILS

• Event hours: 10:45-4:30pm golf, 4:30-7pm dinner
• Volunteer hours: 2 shifts, variable. See signup below for hours
• Volunteer positions: setup, check-in, photography/videography, doggy daycare, dog walker, raffle, auction checkout, tear down.

Please note that all check-in, checkout, raffle, and auction volunteers must be come to the FACE office in Sorrento Valley for a short 30-45 minute training. You can sign up for the training here: https://doodle.com/poll/afiyr9dztvq2m3gk

Volunteer role descriptions:
* Set Up- this position helps with getting everything set up for the golf tournament the morning of the event. You will help with a variety of duties, such as blowing up balloons, setting up our raffle table, setting up our gift bag table, setting up golf carts for each of the players, helping to fill coolers on various holes on the golf course, etc.

* Dog Attendant- you will walk a player’s dog around the course from hole to hole while they play golf. There is a chance you may be able to ride in their golf cart, but you will most likely have to walk the majority of the course. Please only sign up for this position if you are physically able to do so. It is a nice little workout! Be sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, plenty of sunscreen, and comfortable shoes.

* Tear Down- there are two separate times to help with tear down. First, after the golf portion of the event is over, you will go out to the holes and bring back any items left on the holes such as coolers, food, drinks, etc. The second position will be after the entire event near the end of the night, and you will help with packing up all items into staff cars.

* Photographer/videographer: as a volunteer photographer or videographer, you along with two or three other volunteer photographers will take photos and/or video footage of the event throughout the day. You will have access to a golf cart and go from hole to hole getting good shots of players, their dogs, as well as our sponsors and other volunteers. You can also take photos of set up as well as the dinner portion of our event with our live auction and raffle drawing. One photographer will be assigned to the step-and-repeat area right outside of the dinner to take photos of guests as they arrive.

Please note that these positions are tentative and there may be changes the day-of that will require flexibility. For example, a registered player may not come to the tournament, so the person who was assigned to their dog would not have a dog to walk anymore. We would need to place you in a different position if this happens. The event coordinator/volunteer coordinator will let you know what to do if there are any changes to your position.
