Mercy Medical Center is in need of additional volunteer help in our Gift Shop and Mercy Boutique, which is our speciality gift shop located in our Cancer Center. Be the first to check out the latest merchandise to arrive! Volunteers assist with taking customer phone orders, operating the cash register, restocking of items, including candy. Volunteers also provide a comforting presence to our cancer patients in the Mercy Boutique. Training is provided. A proceed of all sales benefit patient-related ministries through CSA Mercy Ministries. Complete a volunteer application today by visiting our website: http://www.cantonmercy.org. Current Openings (please note, openings change frequently): Every/other Monday 1-4 PM, every Thursday 9-1PM; every Saturday 11-2 and 1-4 PM (greatest need); Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri 4-7 PM in the Gift Shop or 10-1 PM or 1-4 PM in the Boutique (greatest need)

The Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine established our hospital as the first and only Catholic hospital in Stark County, a distinction we still hold. When the Sisters came to Canton in 1908, they joined with physicians to convert President McKinley's former home into a hospital.
Recognized as one of America's 100 Top Hospitals for cardiovascular services/interventional cardiology, Mercy Medical Center has been a leader in bringing new and innovative heart treatments to our area. A life-saving protocol, which provides angioplasty in the Emergency Department was pioneered here in Mercy's Emergency Chest Pain Center (ECPC).

Adult and teen volunteer opportunities are available to help hospital caregivers enhance the service extended to patients and their families.
Mercy Medical Center's Volunteer Department has numerous opportunities such as; Volunteering, Mercy Ambassador Teen Program, Shadow-A-Professional Program, Clinical/Non-clinical Interns, Pet Patrol Program, and Episodic Volunteering. In addition we have our new PARTNER Program.
