Want to get out of the house, spend quality time with people and pets, visit fun families and exotic places? (OK, perhaps not exactly exotic) You and a friend and even your canine companion can help us evaluate potential adoptive families. We are looking for home checker volunteers ALL OVER the Southern California area.
Before we adopt a pet to a new family/person, we ask one of our volunteers to do a home visit. It's pretty simple. You visit the home, evaluate the environment and make sure the home, the people and the pet are a good match. In general, you ask yourself, if you were a dog would you want to live in that home and with that family. Then you fill out the home visit checklist and connect with the pet's foster to tell them whether you think the home would be a good place for the pet in question. It doesn't take long and it helps a deserving pet find a great home and a whole new life. Just a little of your time can make all the difference for a furry friend in need.

Some experience with owning a dog is very helpful.

Good people skills and your own transportation are required.

It helps to have a friend to tag along on a home check but it is not required.

Must be over 18 years of age.
