The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based volunteer health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and services . Position Summary: The volunteer driver transports cancer patients to and from medical treatment centers. Responsibilities:- Attend an initial training session for new volunteers.
- Fulfill all requests from the Transportation Coordinator, or as many as possible.
- Notify the Transportation Coordinator or staff person if an assignment cannot be completed.
- Pick up patients promptly at the designated time and location.
- Follow safe driving procedures at all times.
- Be supportive of the patient's concerns, but DO NOT give medical advice or counseling.
- Report all required travel information to the Transportation Coordinator.
- Location available for: ( Eugene, Bend, and Medford)
