Assist by leading horses or walking beside students (sidewalking) during classes. Horse leaders need a general knowledge of horses. Horse leaders are responsible for leading horses during class. Sidewalkers do not need horse experience. They are responsible for communicating with the students and offering them physical and emotional support. Program volunteers should be willing to commit to the same day and time each week and are required to attend our introductory volunteer orientation.

Description

Cheerful Hearts is a PATH intl member center. We provide a special form of assistance to individuals and groups seeking ways to integrate animals in activities that promote growth in all areas of physical, emotional and cognitive development.

Located in Santa Fe, Texas, just south of League City and north of Galveston, we offer therapeutic riding lessons in English or Western as well as adaptive methods at our barn. We also will travel to your facility to participate in AAT, AAE, or AAA with our miniature horses and therapy animals.
