Be a home town hero!
To place trained Red Cross volunteers at the scene of a disaster within minutes of its occurrence, to provide immediate, identifiable emergency services to disaster victims and emergency workers
- Respond to all calls for assistance and meet the immediate needs of disaster victims. These needs will include food, clothing, shelter and provide other personal humanitarian services that may be needed.
- Conduct a damage assessment of disaster scene and report o team leader
- Initiate interviews with those affected by the disaster to assess and meet the emergency needs
- Complete necessary reports or documents related to the incident or to assistance including Disaster Case record (901), credit cards, disbursing orders for services being provided.
- Provide assistance based on the chapter's approved price list, up to financial limits authorized by Disaster Services Leadership
- Assure confidentiality of clients information
- Assist in opening a shelter or providing mass care services
