The Arthritis Foundation's Walk to Cure Arthritis raises funds to fight and cure the nation's #1 cause of disability. Money raised from the Arthritis Walk will help fund the mission of the Arthritis Foundation, which is bolding pursuing a cure for America’s #1 cause of disability, while championing the fight against arthritis with life-changing resources, science, advocacy and community connections.

Volunteers are needed on Saturday, May 5th to make sure the event runs smoothly. Following is a partial list of assignments:

Set-up Crew - Assist with set-up, place signage, drop-off tables, water and cups

Clean-up Crew - Assist with clean-up and break-down of equipment

Course Monitors - Setup/mark course, supervise traffic along the course route

Greeters - Greet participants as they arrive, direct them to registration tables

Pre-Registration - Check-in participants, collect money, pass out route map

T-Shirt Table - Monitors Distribute T-Shirts

Starting/Finishing Line Attendants - Cheer participants at the starting/Finish point

Booth Attendants - Hand out AF materials and sign-in e-advocates

Refreshment Helpers - Set-up tables, hand out refreshments

Water Station Attendants - pass out water during and at the end of the event

Floaters - Assist with various assignments throughout the event

Water Stop Captains - Supervising the water stops *************************************************************************************

Did you know... --Arthritis is the #1 cause of physical disability in the country. - over 54 million Americans have doctor-diagnosed arthritis. Women outnumber men 3 to 1. Locally, over 2 million live with some form of arthritis. --Arthritis costs the U.S. over $128 billion each year in direct medical expense and lost productivity. - more than 300,000 American children have some form of arthritis (more than cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy and sickle cell anemia combined). Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis is one of the most common chronic illnesses in children. CA has more than 10% of all cases, making it the #1 state for JA (38,000 cases).
