An ombudsman advocates for the rights of residents of long-term care facilities. He/she visits with the residents, observes the activities and environment, receives and investigates complaints and concerns, and works to resolve those issues on behalf of the residents. Ombudsmen are the voices for those elders who don't or can't speak up for themselves.
