The Animal Pad all-breed dog rescue is looking to build up our team of dedicated Vetting Coordinators! This volunteer role is an administrative position that can be done from anywhere (with a computer). The Vetting team is a crucial part of our organization as we rescue roughly 40-60 dogs a month, which equals A LOT of vetting care to be managed! The Vetting team works with fosters, adopters, and our vet partners to complete the vetting process for our pups from start to finish.

  • This role involves lots of communication and attention to detail!
  • We work with a rescue software that helps streamline all processes, so we're looking for people that are somewhat tech savvy who are willing and able to learn.
  • Volunteers MUST be able to check and respond to emails and Slack messages daily and must be organized!
*MUST have experience working with Excel or Google Sheets, be able to check and respond to emails daily and have dog caretaking experience. Being well-organized is key! The Vetting Coordinator role is strictly remote and 100% computer based, so there is no direct interaction with the dogs. Please note that this position requires the ability to check and respond to emails on a daily basis and a minimum 6-month commitment.*

Mission Statement

The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue based in San Diego, CA that focuses on saving dogs from the streets of Mexico and high kill shelters. We get them the vet care they need, place them in foster homes and then find them loving forever families. Our mission is to form a safe space for dogs experiencing crisis and neglect, and to build a community of compassion through education, rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. Our community of volunteers and fosters strives to ensure that all dogs get a fighting chance, and believes that no case is too extreme to be helped - meaning our rescue is full of perfectly imperfect dogs who can’t wait to meet you! Being operated solely by volunteers and funded entirely by donations, none of what we do could be possible without our dedicated team!

Here at TAP, we give voice to the voiceless and our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find them the best homes possible. Founded in 2010, The Animal Pad is volunteer run and funded entirely by donations. We rescue dogs primarily off the streets of Mexico, and provide them full medical care and a loving foster home to heal in before they head to their adoptive home.
