Help us realize our vision of making camp a reality for every 4th and 5th grader in Washtenaw County who qualifies for the National School Lunch Program: foster children, homeless children and children in low-income families.
We are especially in need of individuals with WordPress skills for updating our web page, accounting background, fundraising expertise, and event management experience.
The SCS board meets ten times a year, on the first Wednesday of the month from January through October. Board members 1) are expected to attend at least eight meetings annually , 2) should expect to dedicate four to six hours a month on board business outside board meetings, and 3) will make at least one round-trip in the summer taking children to camp (1 to 1.25 hours one way).

Mission Statement
Every young life deserves to be enriched by the camp experience, and the mission of Summer Camp Scholarships, a 501(c)(3) human service agency, is to provide this opportunity to all children in Washtenaw County, regardless of income.
Description
Using eligibility for the federal free school lunch program as qualification, our organization matches a 4th or 5th grader with a camp program, arranges transportation to and from camp, and provides a gift card for clothes, a sleeping bag and duffel bag if needed. Our participating camps, which share the cost, are accredited by the American Camp Association.
