Volunteers are key at Good News Home. They help with fundraising, administrative tasks, operations, and spreading the word about our mission.
We call our volunteers our Helping Hands Team. There are opportunities to help us on an on-going basis or just occasionally, whichever is best for you. We'd love to have you as a part of our team - serving our women!
Helping Hands Opportunities
- Attorneys, accountants, nurses, physicians and other professionals are welcome to serve as consultants
- Banking/budgeting consulting
- Board Membership/Advisory Counsel
- Carpentry/rug cleaning
- Certified drug and alcohol counselors are invited to hold approved workshops for the women at our facility
- Chaperones for outings with the women
- Church & community liaison
- Cosmetologist - bring your talent monthly
- Drivers to take the women to doctor or dentist appointments, job interviews, or grocery shopping
- Envelope stuffers for mass mailing campaigns and newsletters
- Event planner
- Grant research & writing

- Handymen or handywomen are needed to perform minor repairs, paint or help with moving furniture

Mission Statement
The mission of the Good News Home is to provide a comprehensive long and short-term residential substance abuse treatment program that offers a professional, faith-based, non-denominational approach, focusing on healing the total woman utilizing Christian 12-steps, addiction counseling, life skills and spiritual counseling to overcome chemical addiction, with integrated treatment as appropriate for clients who have been diagnosed with co-occurring disorders.
Description
The Good News Home for Women is "home" to the hundreds of women who have walked through our doors desperate, lonely and broken. They come from all walks of life. No one is immune to the disease of addiction and the heartache it brings not only to the afflicted but to family and friends as well.
Located withn 55-acres of beautiful, sprawling farmland in Flemington, New Jersey, the Good News Home for Women is a residential non-profit, faith-based treatment center for women with chemical dependencies and co-occurring disorders. We are licensed by the State of New Jersey, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
Founded in 1983 by the late G. Tracy Ginsburg, the Good News Home opened its doors as a residential facility in 1987. The home is a 12-bed facility offering services to women, 18 years of age and older, without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, or ability to pay. We offer a family-like setting with a serene and wholesome environment for both long and short-term treatment.
