Do you have a passion for helping the environment? Do you have an interest in learning more about native and non-native species? Get outdoors and help us conduct biological surveys in the San Diego River tributaries!
Community service hours can be verified.
Join the San Diego River Park Foundation to gather point-in-time data to document invasive plant species and density in specific areas along tributaries that feed into the San Diego River to measure the health of the River and strategize future plans of action. This hands-on opportunity is a unique chance to see hidden natural spots in San Diego County, and a great way to make a difference for the future of the river and surrounding area.
While no training is required to participate on RiverBlitz or Tributary Surveys, if you’d like to learn more in depth about plants, the equipment and technology we use to gather data, how to spot rare species and document site conditions, we encourage you to come to our free classroom and field training session on March 16 th, 10 am - 3 pm. Attending the training will allow you to expand your ecological knowledge and leadership skills, and if you’d like, guide others in the field during Tributary Surveys!
