PACA relies on volunteer foster parents to continue our good work. We do not have a shelter, so instead our animals are temporarily housed in foster homes until permanent adoption is found. We are always looking for foster parents and will provide the tools necessary to make this a rewarding experience. All that is required is to house the animal in your home during the week and then to transfer the animal to adoption clinic (cat or dog depending upon your preference) on Saturdays. We also need fosters for animals that don't need to go to Saturday adoption clinics, for example, litters of kittens that are too young to adopt out.

Mission Statement
PACA is committed to helping solve the greater problem of pet overpopulation. Description
The People's Anti-Cruelty Association (PACA) was founded in 1973 as a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization. It was created to provide a safe haven for homeless dogs until a permanent home was found. PACA is the oldest No-Kill animal rescue organization in the state of New Mexico. Albuquerque Animal Rescue (AAR) was created in 1992 as the community outreach division of the organization and added the rescue of cats to the venue. AAR focuses on the adoption phase of the animal rescue work. PACA/AAR relies on foster care to provide a safe, home type environment until a permanent home is found.
