Volunteers who go garage sailing can help us out tremendously by finding items such as yarn and knitted blankets for our patients. We need about 12 more afghans/blankets for one home alone. It is so touching to see a patient's bed brightened by a home-made afghan. It helps comfort both the patients and the families. Last week, about ten residents were cold, but only two afghans could be found. These two were donated by volunteers. Would you help us find yarn or other soft flannel material, knit or crochet afghans, or hem blankets for these patients to brighten up the last few months of their lives. Each hour you spend working for patients helps provide 20 hours of paid nursing services.
