Wigs 4 Kids is a local, grassroots 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides wigs and support services to Michigan children experiencing hair loss as a result of illness & treatment. Our program is available to children and teens between the ages of 3 through 18 at no charge to them or their families, and there is no waiting.
We always welcome volunteers at Wigs 4 Kids and we are open to various time commitments - we have volunteers who come in a few times a week to volunteers that help us every other month.
Our hours are:
Tuesday, Friday, Saturday: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
Wednesday, Thursday: 9:00 am - 8:00 pm
We typically schedule volunteers for a 4-hour block of time so you can start and complete a project with us.
Projects are arranged at our Wellness Center in St. Clair Shores based on your interests and skill sets. Once you complete a volunteer application on our website at http://www.wigs4kids.org/how-you-can-help/volunteer-.html we conduct a background check which our Board of Directors requires since we are a children's organization, and then we will contact you to setup your volunteer time.
We also hold an annual gala and many smaller fundraisers. We are always in need of support for these events.
If you have an expertise that you feel will benefit our organization please feel free to let us know and if possible we can find a way to create that opportunity for you.

Mission Statement
Maggie's Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan is a local, grassroots non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that reaches out to Michigan children and teens experiencing hair loss to help them regain self-esteem. The program assists young people, aged 3 through 18, with hair loss from cancer treatments, alopecia, trichotillomania and other conditions by providing age appropriate, custom-fitted wigs at no cost. We support these young people as they struggle for social acceptance based on physical appearance and helps kids improve their self-image by enabling them to look more like their peers. We are funded solely on the basis of contributions and gratefully accepts donations.

Maggie's Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan is committed to substantially improving the quality of life for children and teens experiencing hair loss, by responding to their need to improve attitudes and regain a positive self-image.
